Mentors will be positive and professional role models, help students reflect on their work experience, and support students as they explore future school and work options
SJP mentors are not the student's supervisor; mentors support the student and the work-based learning experience
Mentors will meet with students at least 5 times during the summer (early June to mid-August)
Mentors must be at least 21 years old and pass a background check
A mentor orientation will be held in May, lasting 1-1.5 hours
The Summer Jobs Program Mentor Handbook outlines expectations and includes ideas for weekly conversations.
